Old Maps and Prints

Browsing through the over 10,000 rare and old maps, prints and books in this specialty shop is akin to a journey through pre-20th-century Southeast Asia. Each one is a fascinating historical narrative of Thailand (Siam), Laos, Cambodia, Burma, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, reflecting shifting borders and name changes.

A fount of knowledge, the proprietor, German antiquarian Joerg Kohler, is always happy to explain the origin and history of your find. And while the merchandise is not cheap, it is definitely unique, and Kohler, the only foreigner in the Thai Antique Association offers a great return policy. He says if you don’t like something you bought, you can bring it back and receive something of equal value. Prints of the originals are not expensive, so why not get one as souvenir of your trip to Thailand.
