Aspire Park

Aspire Park

Aspire Zone Road

Hidden away behind Villaggio, one of Doha's most popular shopping malls, lies a massive green oasis, which is a rare sight in this part of the world. Aspire Park is a surprisingly huge and super-lush park (the biggest in town) which isn't classified as a tourist attraction as such. However, it stands as a grand contrast to the typical surrounding desert landscape and is a rare gem to admire and experience whilst in Doha

Falcon Souq

Falcon Souq

Off Corniche street

Shopping in Qatar is a very popular activity, but forget the modern malls and high-end boutiques, which seem to appear in every corner of the city overnight (or almost) and opt instead for the traditions and real local flavours of Souq Waqif. This typical Arabic market, which dates back hundreds of years and recently restored, is one of the top tourist destinations in Doha.

It is perfect for an affordable and typical meal with friends and family, souvenir shopping and for people watching. The atmosphere is buzzing in the evening especially (make sure you visit after 4:00 p.m. when the shops are open) ...

Museum of Islamic Art

Museum of Islamic Art

Corniche

The Museum of Islamic Art is a must-see landmark in Doha. First opened in 2008, this outstanding building represents a work of art itself, with striking architecture and worthy of as much attention as its collections inside. Located on the Corniche, the structure designed by Mr I.M. Pei, whose projects include the Louvre Pyramid in Paris and the National Gallery in Washington, is like nothing you've ever seen before: a structure of giant sand-coloured stone blocks rising from the sea and an adorned facade with giant palm trees leading to its sumptuous entrance.

Here you can admire amazing and historic collections of artefacts from different Islamic eras and countries...
