It’s a scenic drive, some 45 kms west of Hua Hin, to the verdant valley that embraces this vineyard that is part of the New Latitudes wine movement.

Once a corral used to domesticate wild Asian elephants, the 560 acres of fertile sand and slate now nurture grape varietals like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Colombard, Muscat, Tempranillo, and Sangiovese that are also caressed by Mediterranean-like ocean breezes before they are turned into their Monsoon Valley label wines.

They operate a daily shuttle, which leaves from Market Village at 10:30am (or catch the later one that departs at 3pm). Plan to spend the whole day here, as the opportunities on offer are seemingly endless.

After wandering through the rows of grape vines on foot, on bicycle, or by an exclusive elephant tour, cool off in The Sala Wine Bar & Bistro.

Hua Hin Hills Winery

Designed by former Norman Foster architect, Sylvia Soh, it offers delectable “Thai and International Bistronomy” as well as samplings of Siam Winery’s premium wines.

A retail shop also allows you to buy their wines, souvenirs, and other quality grape-based products including juices, essences, and cookies. Other activities include pétanque, mountain-biking trails, and a chance to design and paint your own unique wine label.
