Rock Climbing in Krabi

The towering limestone karsts that jut out along the spectacular Krabi coastline are a magnet to climbers looking for their next adrenalin rush. Over 700 routes that trace limestone crags, outcrops and sheer pocketed walls have been developed since rock climbing first took of here in the ’80s. The single and multi-pitch routes at Railay and Tonsai offer varying degrees of difficulty are poplar with beginners and experts alike. One of the newer climbing destinations is Ao Nang. The Spirit Mountain crag there has a wide range of style, from delicate face climbing to stalactite and overhang challenges and is great for all types of climbers. Solo, groups or even families with kids can try their hand at this sport, as it requires no special skills.

Rock Climbing in Krabi

Most of the schools offer half-day, one-day and three-day programmes, which include instructors, insurance, equipment and refreshments. One of the top climbing schools, King Climbers has been around for over 10 years and offers a wide range of courses to meet all levels of climbing abilities. Their guides have minimum of five years experience and are all accredited by the American Canyon Guides Association (ACGA).
