Imagine being catapulted into the 50 metres into air, accelerating from 0-100 kph in one second and experiencing 5 G-force. This is what Pattaya’s newest attraction, the Rocket Ball, does. Also known as the reverse bungee ride, it shoots two riders into the air vertically at very high speeds.
A spherical steel cage fitted with seats for the riders is connected by bungee cords to two steel towers. Once the riders are strapped in, the cage is pulled to the ground before being released. The bungee cords engage sending the riders on a thrilling ride up into the air. It’s an incredible rush.

Watching it, the safety question will pop up. The device is made by Technical Park, an Italian company that has designed and put together some of the biggest amusement parks in the world. Built with the strongest highest-quality materials, each strategic part is connected with full-penetration welds and then tested by state-of-the-art computer-assisted design and engineering programmes. In addition, the operators, 2Sky, have a team that are trained and qualified by the manufacturers.
A word of advice though, this is not for the faint-hearted, but it could be a novel to propose!
